Tata Motors has unveiled a four-seater concept car named the Tata Megapixel that can deliver up to 100 kilometers per liter of fuel. The concept car that uses a unique combination of technology and is likely to be launched commercially by the year 2015 was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, Switzerland. Equipped with a combination of a lithium ion phosphate battery and a petrol engine generator, the car will have the ability to recharge on the move.

The Tata Megapixel is claimed by the company to offer up to 900 kilometers on a single tank of fuel. The company has been developed at the company’s design centers in India, Italy and the United Kingdom. With a view to make it drivable in megacities and for easier parking, the car has been enabled with front wheels that can turn at an acute angle providing the car with the 2.8 meter turning radius.

The at-home charging system offered with the car will enable easy charging by simply parking the car over the induction pad of the charging system.
